After getting selected to their first ever Division III NCAA Tournament, the Elmhurst College men’s soccer team lost in the opening round to Dominican University on Nov. 14.

The Elmhurst College women’s soccer team has gone 2-1 since their double overtime win against North Central. A 2-0 shutout of Aurora University on October 7 was followed by a 1-2 loss to fifth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University on October 10. The ‘Jays would then go on to hand St. Mary’s College a 3-1 loss on October 14.
On October 10, the Elmhurst College women’s tennis team took sixth place at the CCIW Championships after injuries and sickness caused the ‘Jays top singles and doubles competitors to drop out.
The Elmhurst College women’s volleyball was unable to remain above .500 after falling to conference leader Carthage on the October 13. They now have an 11-12 overall record with an even 3-3 record in conference play.
The Bluejays came out with a chip on their shoulder against North Park on October 17. The 47-10 thumping of North Park was a must win effort from the ‘Jays. After starting the season 3-0 they then dropped their first two conference games. But with the win on Saturday the ‘Jays are now 4-2 overall with a 1-2 CCIW record.

Finding motivation is something that many college students have problems with. However, for EC men’s soccer player Randy Warren, finding motivation is an everyday occurrence.

We all saw the Bears beat the Detroit Lions on Sunday October 4. We saw quarterback Jay Cutler jump and get helicoptered into the end zone. We saw the quick Johnny Knox look like a young Devin Hester and take the opening kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown to break the tie. And finally Matt Forte broke out of his drought to find the end zone, ending with over 100 yards rushing.
The Elmhurst College men’s golf team continues to chip their way through the rest of a short fall season with the Cress Creek Fall Invite on September 21 and Wisconsin Lutheran College Fall Invite on September 27 and 28.
The Bluejays remain above .500 after a double overtime victory over North Central College on September 30. They are now 6-4 overall and 2-1 in conference.
The Elmhurst College women’s tennis team’s two-game winning streak was broken when they were shutout by Luther College, 9-0 on September 26. EC did not take one game from any of the singles or doubles matches.

The Elmhurst College men's and women's track and field teams both failed to finish in the top ten at the 2009 Chicagoland Indoor Championships.
On any given day you could win against the best of opponents, and the next day lose to the worst.
Super Bowl Sunday seemed to come and go like Christmas this year, and although the outcome was not everything that I had hoped for, partially because I could have won a flat screen TV if the Cardinals had scored in the last seconds of the game, it was what I had expected.
Whether it was playing a pick up game at the park or shooting hoops at his house, Mike McCurdy grew up playing basketball. According to Mike his “love for the game was just in [his] genes, or better yet, [his] gym shorts.”
A new name was added to the Elmhurst College basketball’s record book when the school honored junior Lyndsie Long for scoring her 1,000 career point against North Central College on January 16th. Head Coach Tethnie Werner commented, “Everyone on the team knew she only needed 10 points to get to 1,000. Lyndsie got three fouls early in the game and had to sit most of the first half which I know was frustrating for her. It was a great night for her.”
